2 August 2016. Casual Observation, Loddon Parish Study.
Building alterations on the ground floor revealed a possible entrance to a cellar. Removal of soil by members of the Loddon Parish Study revealed a small brick-built circular chamber with a domed ceiling. The structure measured approximately 1m diameter and was not fully excavated. Probing suggests that it was just over 1m deep. A lead pipe enters the structure near the top. The structure is interpreted as a rain water storage chamber with a volume of about 1000 litres.
A. Beckham (HES), 3 August 2016.
