Summary

The cropmarks of a linear ditch, probably a drainage ditch or field boundary of post medieval date, is visible on aerial photographs, to the south of French’s Farm, Waxham. The ditch sits within two larger cropmarks sites (NHER 42096 and 7), but does not seem to contemporary with either site. It is possible that it post-dates the other features.

Map

September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a linear ditch, probably a drainage ditch or field boundary of post medieval date, are visible on aerial photographs, to the south of French’s Farm, Waxham (S1 and S2). The site is centred on TG 4393 2575. The ditch sits within two larger cropmarks sites (NHER 27704 and 42096); the former is medieval to post medieval in date and the latter is undated, but probably largely pre-medieval in date. This north to south ditch or drain, which runs from TG 4393 2568 to TG 4393 2583, does not appear to form part of either site. It is possible that it post-dates the other features.
