Summary

A mainly 18th century two storey brick farmhouse with an earlier gable end and a rear pile dating to about 1800. The house has a fine 18th century interior, several rooms containing raised panelling. The half turn stair has a corner landing and a main landing on two sides. There is also a fine Regency fire grate.

Farmhouse. Mainly 18th century with an earlier gable end. Brick with black pantile roofs. Double pile plan with later rear pile. Two storeys with attic. 16th or 17th century returned north gable-end in small bricks. Early 18th century fabric probably replaces a timber frame. Six bay façade (southernmost bay blocked) with modern plate glass sash windows beneath skewback arches at ground floor level only. Modern porch and front door. Plain platband and moulded brick cornice. Gable end stacks. Rear pile of circa 1800 with three first floor sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches with keystones and shaped soffits. Sawtooth cornice, one axial stack and one stack to rear wall. Fine 18th century interior. Several rooms with complete raised and fielded panelling and one coved recess with ribbed semidome. Half-turn stair with one corner landing and main landing on two sides. Turned attenuated vase balusters on a closed string, swept wide handrail and dado. Fine Regency fire grate of duck's nest type with converging flutes. Butt-purlin roof to principal pile with collars and wind-bracing.
