Grand house constructed 1907 for the lawyer George Wyllys on a site previously heathland.
Architect unknown but clearly a good example of the Vernacular revival style of the time; L-shaped, one wing lower than the other; the main block gabled, the lower being hipped with gabled dormer to side over square-plan bay window; porch in angle of wings with haystack roof below Venetian window; other windows mullioned and transomed.
