Summary

In 1983 staff and children from Mulbarton First School excavated in two areas of the school's playing fields. They discovered post medieval pottery, bricks and tiles. The objects may have been rubbish from nearby cottages and Mulbarton Hall (NHER 9525).

1983. Excavation by staff and children from Mulbarton First School.
Two areas were investigated within the playing fields of Mulbarton First School. Both were close to the school fence, see (S1).
Site 1 was close to Mulbarton Hall (NHER 9525); nothing was discovered.
Site 2 was close to two cottages. It produced post medieval pottery and post medieval and/or modern bricks and tiles. Probably rubbish from the nearby cottages and Mulbarton Hall.
