Map

June 2006. Norfolk NMP
A cropmark of a curvilinear field boundary of probable medieval date is visible on aerial photographs (S1). This cropmark is centred on TM 3317 9208. A single linear ditch cropmark extends in a reverse C-shape from TM 3309 9199 to TM 3326 9210 and back to TM 3314 9216. This field boundary is shown on the Ditchingham enclosure map (S2) and was still extant in 1945 (S3) when the northern arm continued for a further 60m to the west. Although this field boundary survived into the mid 20th century, its curvilinear form suggests that it is of medieval origin.
J. Albone (NMP), 16 June 2006
