Full Description
Site of clay pits.
Present Church Farmhouse is mid 19th century. When it had to be underpinned in recent years the builders reported that the ground was upside down, indicating severe disturbance. Local knowledge calls the site the Pudding Pits, a clay pit from which clay was exported to make bricks elsewhere. (S1).
Site shown as vacant on (S2).
E. Rose (NLA), 9 June 2006.
