Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 2006 and 2024 recovered a large and diverse assemblage of artefacts, including Neolithic, Early Neolithic, Late Neolithic, Bronze Age, Early/Middle Bronze Age and undiagnostic Late Prehistoric worked flints; Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, Late Saxon/medieval, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman and medieval roof tile fragments; a potentially medieval micaceous schist hone stone; an undated lava quern fragment; undatable casting waste (mostly copper alloy but also single gold and silver droplets and a lead casting sprue); undatable slaggy metal-working debris; Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; a post-medieval token and a range of other, undatable and Late Iron Age/Roman to post-medieval metal objects.
