Full Description
July 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a probable medieval to post medieval trackway or field boundary are visible on aerial photographs within arable to the north of The Grove, Aldeby (S1). The site is centred on TM 4517 9528. This site is located within a larger spread of multi-phase cropmarks (NHER 44873).
The site consists of a two parallel ditches, 5m apart, which possibly represent part of a trackway or a double ditched field boundary. A third parallel ditch runs through the middle and possibly indicates re-cutting of the linear. These ditches are all aligned along the same axis as the surrounding fields, which may indicate a medieval to post medieval date for these cropmarks.
S. Massey (NMP), 21 July 2006.
