Summary

Small post medieval house of brick, shown on map of 1840 and said locally to date from 1820 and to have been either the gamekeeper's or gardener's house for the Boyland Hall estate.

Map

Small house of brick. Two storeys, gabled east to west. Three bays to south; central bay has door behind later porch, blank above. Single storey bay windows each side are of around 1900. Internal stacks of paired square shafts, and similar stack at rear serving kitchen fireplace in rear pentise. Original plan was therefore central straight staircase in line with door, principal room to each side, kitchen and larder in pentise. Moulded arched recesses each side of east gable stack. Building shown on (S1) and said locally to date from 1820 and to have been either gamekeeper’s or gardener’s house for Boyland Hall estate. Large rear wing added in mid 20th century.
