Excavation in 2003 revealed multi-period features including a Late Saxon/early medieval gully and a pit and an arrangement of medieval ditches that may represent a field system or enclosure.

November 2003 - January 2003. Geophysical survey. Bacton to King's Lynn Transco pipeline. Construction section 39, plot number 88b.
Geophysical survey identified two substantial curvilinear anomalies, believed to relate to a large, kidney-shaped enclosure, within this plot.

March - August 2003. Excavation. Bacton to King's Lynn pipeline.
Excavation revealed Late Saxon/early medieval curvilinear gully segments and a substantial, sub-rectangular pit.
A rectilinear arrangement of medieval ditches may represent a field system or enclosure.
A large, kidney-shaped medieval enclosure was in part defined by two broad, curvilinear ditches.
Two ?medieval ditches may represent field boundaries.
A series of narrow ?late medieval or post medieval ditches appear to define a rectilinear field system.
