Summary

This is a former threshing barn, dating to the mid 18th century, and has a weatherboarded timber-frame on a brick plinth. This five bay building has a roof structure of arch-braced tie beams with lap jointed collars, covered in pantiles. It is a fine example of a five-bay threshing barn which is little-altered and forms part of a good farmstead group with Downham Lodge Farmhouse (NHER 45662).
