Summary

This farmhouse has been divided into two dwellings, but it was originally built as a single building in the 18th century. It is of brick with pantiled roofs, and is two storeys high with and off-centre two-leaf panelled front door with eared architrave and a 20th century flat hood.

Listing Description:
Church Farmhouse, New Road.
Farmhouse divided into two dwellings. 18th century. Brick with pantiled roofs. Two storeys and six bays (one blocked) of sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches. One former large opening (two bays) to north end of ground floor. Off-centre two-leaf panelled front door with eared architrave and 20th century flat hood. Vitrified headers form an unusual pattern around the first floor windows perhaps to produce a rusticated effect. Plain dentil cornice and off-centre axial stack. South gable-end with contemporary two-storey lean- to,possibly garderobes. Gables with tumbling-in. Later extensions to north and rear.
