Summary

This range of houses and shops date to the late 18th century but were altered in the late 20th century. The buildings are made from brick and flint with a red brick facade.They feature four doorways with doorcases of fluted or roll-moulded pilaster strips and segmental heads. There are two plate-glass shop display windows. Several 20th century additions exist to the rear and the interiors were altered to allow for development as two shops and offices integral with Nos 2-6 Earls Street.

Range of houses and shops. Late 18th century, altered late 20th century. Brick and flint with red brick façade. Pantile roof. Two storeys in four bays. Four doorways with doorcases of fluted or roll-moulded pilaster strips and segmental heads. Doors themselves late 20th century. Two plate-glass shop display windows, and, to extreme left, an 8/8 sash under a segmental head. Four 8/8 first-floor sashes under segmental heads, that to left of elevation with horns. Dentil eaves cornice and gabled roof. Internal gable-end chimneystack to northeast (right). Rear with 20th century additions. Interior: altered to allow for development as two shops and offices integral with Nos 2-6 Earls Street (qv). Late 20th century communal staircase in Nos 2-6 Earls Street. Included for group value.
