Summary

Thornton House is a mid-18th-century house which was divided into offices in the mid 20th century. This two-storey building is of red brick laid in Flemish bond, and has a pantiled roof. Inside there is a staircase with two turned balusters per tread, and a ramped and moulded handrail.

Listing Description excerpt:
"House. Mid 18th century. Divided into offices [in] mid 20th century. Red brick laid in Flemish bond; pantiled roof. Exterior: two storeys in five-window range. Central six-panelled door under a three-paned overlight and within timber doorcase with consoles supporting open pedimented hood...Dentil eaves cornice. Gabled roof with internal gable-end stacks. Tumbling in gable heads. Two-storey outshut to rear. Interior: divided into offices. Staircase with two turned balusters per tread, ramped and moulded handrail."
