Summary

Nos 4 and 5 are two houses, built around 1700, with a range of workshops attached at the south dated to 1793. No 5 is a two storey building of carstone ashlar with brick dressings and a 20th century shop front. No 5 is also a two storey building of carstone ashlar and brick dressings, with two plate glass sashes of around 1900 on the ground floor and a central 18thy century six-panel door. The range of workshops is of three separate builds of coursed carstone, carstone rubble with brick dressings, and red pantiled roofs.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Two houses with range of workshops attached at south. Houses c.1700, and early 18th century, workshops 1793. [5 Pedlars Mews] at north c.1700, coursed, squared and dressed carstone ashlar, brick dressings, pantiled roof. Two storeys. Ground floor has inserted mid 20th-century shop front...Brick quoins.
[4 Pedlars Mews] to south, early 18th century, squared, coursed carstone ashlar with galletting, brick dressings. Red pantiled roof. Two storeys with attics, four bays... Moulded brick plat-band to first floor. Brick quoins. Dogtooth dentil eaves cornice, brick tumbling to south gable. Three cut down ridge stacks.
Range of workshops attached at south of three builds: range to north squared coursed carstone, centre and south ranges carstone rubble, brick dressings, red pantiled roofs. Range at south has on north side five datestone plaques: "T. Page 1793", "Built by Ja. Law 1793", "17 JF 93", "17 SE 93" and "17 SB 93". Workshops included primarily for group value."
