Sundial. Date barely visible and partly obscured by brightly painted dial. The letter 'J' to the top centre and 'M' below and to the right in middle register and along the bottom the date: MDCCXXX. The middle left hand initial is not visible from the ground unless the black painted 'J', which forms part of the dial design, is a reminder. The paint over the letters and date is slightly crazed and suggests that painted letters survive beneath the painted surface of the dial. The dial was clearly an after thought and therefore the eponymous house originally had another name. See photographs. See (S3)
