Full Description
This front pile of this house dates from the mid-to late 18th century and was added to the 17th century rear pile. It has a red brick front, with flint and brick dressings to the rear. This two storey building with attics has slated roofs. It takes the form of two canted, two storey bays with three sashes with glazing bars under flat rubbed brick arches to each floor. The central wooden Doric doorcase has two half columns and entablature with triglyphs and baseless pediment with guttae. Raised and fielded reveals and soffit with keystone. The part glazed door has glazing bars and a switch tracery fanlight. First floor sash with glazing bars above. The roof has parapeted eaves with stone coping. There are three dormers, with sashes with glazing bars. The chimney stacks have been removed. The mansarded roof is hipped at ridge level. The three storey rear pile with flint and brick gable to the south suggests pre-1700 origin for the rear pile. To the east is a two storey brick and pantiled wing with hipped gable.
