Summary

Nos 29 and 31 are a pair of cottages built around 1840 of pebble flint with gault dressings and slate roofs. The are in an 'L' plan; No 29 has one storey and No 31 has one and a half storeys. The building is a former school that was built in 1869 and enlarged in 1907. The school was scheduled for closure in 1958/9 and has since been converted into a private dwelling.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"Nos 29 and 31, The Street.
Cottages. Built around 1840. Walls pebble flint, gault dressings, slate roofs. 'L' plan. No 29 one storey, three bays. 20th century widows inserted within original cambered rubbed brick arches, brick quoined surrounds."

The building is a former school that was built in 1869 and enlarged in 1907. Although there is no record of a teacher's house, it appears that one was attached to the school. The school was scheduled for closure in 1958/9 and has since been converted into a private dwelling.
