July 2009. Building survey.
The school is mentioned in White's 1836 and 1864 Directory of Norfolk as a National School established in 1815 with an associated head master's house. According to Kelly's 1908 Directory of Norfolk a class room for infants was added in 1946. The school is of brick construction with black pantile roof. It is not certain whether the school was constructed in 1815 or 1878 as various directories cite different dates for construction. It is possible that a school house was built in 1815 and the present building was later constructed in 1878. The school is a single storey structure with an L-shaped plan. The teacher's house associated with the school is Georgian and may predate the present school building. A bell tower is located on the gable wall but there is no bell.
