Summary

No 1 London Road is a 17th-century or earlier two-storey timber-framed house with a mid 19th century painted brick front and a black glazed pantile roof with gabled ends.The ground floor has a central projecting brick porch with a dripmould over a glazed door, and there are brick chimney stacks.

Listing Description excerpt:
"17th century or earlier. Timber-framed with mid 19th-century painted brick front. Black glazed pantile roof with gabled ends. Two storeys. Three windows. Three-light casements with dripmoulds. Ground floor central projecting brick porch with dripmould over glazed door. Ground floor windows altered. Brick chimney stacks."

The north range of the building is an early 16th century open hall house. In the 17th century a floor and chimney were inserted with late 18th/early 19th century extensions on the south side. The windows have decorated moulded drip courses.
