Summary

Lakenham First School was formerly an Infants School, and before that a hospital and school for girls. It was built in 1863, of yellow brick with a hipped slate roof. This two storey building has cast iron lion masks on the gutters. There is a three-bay wing in a similar style set back to the right, and there are tablets flanking the main door that record the history of the foundation.
