Summary

The White Cottages are almshouses, built in 1826 of yellow brick with stone dressings. These single storey buildings have hipped slate roofs and share six tall four-shafted brick ridge chimneys. The projecting centre bay has a Tudor-arched ribbed door flanked by two-light windows under a stepped gable. The almshouses stand within the Great Hospital Precinct (NHER 624).
