September 2010. Newspaper Article.
Eastern Daily Press reports that the school is approaching its centenary, and also that the school was opened 100 years ago by the Rev Hon Edward Lyttleton, the then headmaster of Eton. This was through a voluntary amalgamation of the King Edward VI Middle School, the Municipal Secondary School, and the Old Presbyterian Edward School. The article talks of an early prospectus (dated 1911), which states the school grounds are upwards of 14 acres, and that the schools promise was to prepare boys for proffessional, commercial, industrial and agricultural careers.
See (S2) for further details.
