Full Description
July 1972. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description excerpt:
"House, now offices. Early 17th century. Timber-framed, mostly replaced with brick at various times. Pantile roof. Two storeys and dormer attic in four bays, the east bay masked by 19th-century building to east."
Information from (S1).
Please consult the National Heritage List for England (S1) for the current listing details.
J. Allen (NLA), 24 April 2007. Amended by J. Cullis (HES), 3 January 2020.
This building is still known locally as no 34. Despite date given in (S1), one gable wall is of clay lump and there is a chamfered beam against the stack, indicating this end at least seems 19th century.
According to [1] a south-east wing shown on (S2) was demolished in 1960 to build a warehouse which itself has now gone (S3).
E. Rose (NLA), 7 November 2006.
