Summary

Nos 24 and 26 Market Street are a pair of houses which are now one. They date to the 17th century, with an early 19th-century brick front, and are probably timber-framed. The two storey, L-plan building has a brick façade with pantiled roofs.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Pair of houses, now one. 17th century with early 19th-century brick front. Probably timber-framed. Pantiled roofs. L-plan. Two storey brick facade, formerly each house of one bay plus door to right, right door (to No 24) blocked. Six-panelled nearly central door under six-vaned fanlight in rectangular frame...Paired bracket eaves cornice below gabled roof. Outshut to rear of front block overlapping two-storey rear wing. Wing in three bays. One three-light late 18th-century casement each floor to left bay and a two-light 18th-century casement first floor of right bay...Gabled roof with late 20th-century sloping dormer. Further two-storey and dormer attic extension to south. No stacks visible. Rear elements all of whitewashed brick."
