Full Description
August 2006. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of undated and post medieval ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). These cropmarks are centred on TM 3772 9350. Five separate sections of linear ditch cropmark are present. Two of these, in the southern part of the group are adjoining and partly corresponds to a post medieval field boundary marked on the 1839 Kirby Cane tithe map (S3). A short section of southwest to northeast aligned linear cropmark in the northeast of the group at TM 3791 9355 appears to correspond to the position of a footpath on the first edition 6 inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map (S4). The other linear cropmarks do not relate to post medieval features and are of unknown date.
J. Albone (NMP), 17 August 2006
