Full Description
August 2006. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of undated linear ditches and incomplete enclosures are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). These cropmarks are centred on TM 3755 9375 and were previously recorded as part of NHER 18321. A group of linear ditch cropmarks are present on a variety of different alignments, the majority of which do not correspond to the surrounding field boundaries. Most of the ditches lie on roughly northwest to southeast or southwest to northeast alignments and it is possible that some are field boundaries associated with the cropmarks of a medieval to post medieval road or track that crosses the field (NHER 18321). Two adjoining ditches in the northeast corner of the group at TM 3761 9381 appear to form two sides of an enclosure or field. However, the cropmarks are too fragmentary for its shape and dimensions to be completely determined. It is possible that the other ditch cropmarks are also field boundaries of unknown date.
