Summary

Earthworks of field boundary ditches of probable medieval to early post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs. They are not marked on the 1839 Gillingham tithe map and do not fully conform to the modern field pattern. It is likely that they relate to a medieval to early post medieval field pattern that was partly cleared when the park around Gillingham Hall was established further to the west (NHER 30504).
