Full Description
October 2006. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of an incomplete rectilinear enclosure and associated ditches of possible post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3026 1173. Only parts of three sides of the enclosure are visible as cropmarks. It is defined by a 4m wide ditch and appears to have a trapezoidal plan. If it is bounded on the west by the farm track, as appears to be the case, it measures 72m long by at least 50 wide. Two linear ditch cropmarks extend from the southeast side of the enclosure and are aligned parallel to the farm track. It is likely that this enclosure is of post medieval or possibly medieval date. Its direct relationship to the more complete post medieval field system cropmarks to the southeast (NHER 45125) is not clear.
J. Albone (NMP), 09 October 2006.
November 2008. Norfolk NMP.
NHER 45121 appears to be part of the same field system/enclosure complex recorded as NHER 51948, as the north-south ditch of the incomplete enclosure described above, running from TG 3029 1171 to TG 3029 1176, appears to continue north as part of an enclosure described in NHER 51948.
E. Bales (NMP), 14 November 2008.
