Map

October 2006. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of linear ditches, probably field boundaries of medieval to early post medieval date, are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TM 3596 9318. Six sections of linear ditch cropmark are present on roughly north to south and west to east alignments. Four of these ditches form an L shaped field boundary on the eastern side of the group. Although this field boundary is not marked on the 1840 Ellingham tithe map (S2), its former course is marked by isolated trees on that map. It is likely that it relates to a medieval to early post medieval field boundary, which had been removed by 1840. It is possible that the other ditch cropmarks in this group also relate to field boundaries of this period.
