Summary

A group of undated ditches and a possible enclosure are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. If they reflect the presence of genuine archaeological features, they almost certainly represent several different phases of activity. At the same time, however, they could all merely be the product of modern agricultural activity.

Map

October 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A group of ditches and a possible enclosure are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1) to (S3), centred at TG 4177 1911. Their function is not known, although some may represent drains or field boundaries. A possible small, rectilinear enclosure is visible at TG 4175 1906 but the archaeological origin of this feature is extremely uncertain. If the mapped features genuinely represent archaeology, they probably belong to several different phases of activity. The possibility, however, that some (or even all) are the product of recent agricultural activity cannot be ruled out.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 30 October 2006.
