Summary

Metal detecting at this location between 2006 and 2021 recovered an Upper Palaeolithic double-ended flint scraper; a Neolithic part-polished flint axehead; a Roman fired clay kiln bar; Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and various other, Late Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include Late Bronze Age copper alloy awls; a Middle Iron Age brooch; a Late Iron Age brooch; a Late Iron Age/Roman miniature terret; Roman brooches, a seal box lid and copper alloy hair pins; a Middle Saxon spoon fragment and pin; Late Saxon buckles and a strap end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a medieval brooch made from an English jetton, a medieval gold finger ring, a medieval strap plate with silver rivets and a post-medieval silver cuff link and silver hooked tag); medieval probable harness mounts, box or furniture keys, a thimble, lead seal matrix and lead weight and a post-medieval knife end stop, rowel spur and lead cloth seal.

Roman fired clay kiln bar, brooch, seal box lid and copper alloy hair pins.
Late Saxon buckles.
Medieval buckles, strap loops, probable harness mounts, box or furniture keys, a brooch made from an English jetton, strap end, openwork strap mount, thimble, lead seal matrix, lead weight, gold finger ring and strap plate with silver rivets.
Post-medieval dress hook, buckle, rowel spur and copper alloy, silver cuff links and silver hooked tag.

The medieval strap plate with silver rivets has been submitted for consideration as Treasure (Ref: 2021 T981). The medieval gold finger ring, post-medieval silver cuff link and post-medieval silver hooked tag, were all returned to the finder after being disclaimed as Treasure (Refs: 2021 T813, 2022 T341 and Ref: 2021 T814 respectively).
