Map

June 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a possible boundary ditch or trackway and associated ditches are visible on aerial photographs to the northwest of Potter Heigham village (S1). The site is centred on TG 4159 1980. The ditches follow a similar, but not identical alignment as those recorded to the north under NHER 44802, which is a group of enclosures and fields of probable Iron Age to Roman date. It is therefore possible that the two sites are of a broadly similar date. The cropmarks suggest a possible group of boundaries and a curvilinear trackway or double ditched boundary. The rectilinear and L-shaped ditch fragments may indicate the presence of an enclosure, although the site is too fragmentary to offer a great deal of interpretation. Some of the cropmarks are also quite faint and it is possible that some of the linear features mapped are agriculturally derived cropmarks.
