A pair of post medieval earthwork sea banks is visible on aerial photographs of the saltmarsh at Stiffkey (S1). These are likely to post medieval in date and part of the embankment and improvement of the saltmarsh. The two earthwork banks are centred on TF 9849 4430 and are perpendicular to one another; both are 100m long and between 4m and 5m wide. The western one runs from TF 9837 4428 to TF 9847 4431 and the eastern one is from TF 9849 4430 to TF 9852 4420.
