A post medieval earthwork bank and ditch are visible on aerial photographs on Stiffkey saltmarsh (S1). These features are likely to be part of the post medieval embanking and draining of the saltmarsh.
An earthwork bank is visible running from TF 9897 4435 to TF 9902 4435 and measures 50m long and between 1.5m to 2m wide. This is flanked to the northern seaward side by a ditch, 45m long and between 0.5m to 1m wide.
