Map

The cropmarks of possible pit alignments and ditches of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs (S1). Pit alignments are often part of prehistoric linear boundaries, although it is not clear whether this is the case at this site. It is possible that they once were more continuous than the cropmarks make them appear. The ditches may have become fragmentary with the effects of ploughing. Another possible section of pit alignment is also visible on aerial photographs to the east (NHER 31440). This is eastern section is located to the north of a rectilinear enclosure of possible Roman date, although it is not clear whether the two features are related or contemporary.

A group of ditches and linear arrangements of pit-like features is visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). A T-shaped arrangement of ditches runs from TF 9734 4345 to TF 9743 4397 for approximately 100m. The perpendicular ditch runs from TF 9739 4397 to TF 9739 4395 for 18.5m. To the south of this is a line of eight pits, up to 1.5m across, running from TF 9739 4394 to TF 9743 4395. To the south is two possible parallel arrangements of pits. One alignment consists of seven pits running from TF 9744 4388 to TF 9740 and the other, to the north, has only three pits running from TF 9741 4388 to TF 9740 4388. A second ditch runs almost in alignment to these features to the west, from TF 9737 4386 to TF 9740 4387.
