Map

December 2006. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site. Contexts 1-84.
One probable Late Saxon pit was identified containing occupation and possible industrial remains, in addition to three undated, possibly contemporary pits. A buried soil of probable medieval date was identified in one trench, possibly indicating that the site was once common land. There were 19th century building remains in all trenches, and only 19th century deposits identified in two trenches.
