November 2006. Norfolk NMP
A World War Two military camp is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). This camp was located at TG 3459 1683. Six rectangular pitched-roofed huts, each measuring approximately 18m by 7m, were present along with two smaller rectangular buildings. An open rectangular structure, possibly a static water tank, was located in the northern corner of the camp. It is possible that this camp, along with another to its northwest (NHER 45259), was associated with a searchlight battery on Horning recreation ground (NHER 45260). By November 1949 buildings at this camp were being demolished (S2).
