Map

November 2006. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of undated and post medieval ditches and enclosures are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3213 1896. Linear and curvilinear field boundary ditch cropmarks are present on a variety of different alignments, with some defining enclosures. North to south ditch cropmarks are present which correspond to the modern field pattern and are marked as boundaries on the Hoveton St Peter enclosure map (S2). Adjoining the central north to south field boundary are linear and curvilinear ditches. These form incomplete enclosures that measure 38m wide by between 19m and at least 60m in length. Other ditch cropmarks are present on a southwest to northeast and northwest to southeast alignment. These include a further incomplete rectilinear enclosure that measures 58m by at least 31m. These ditches lie at a diagonal to the modern field pattern and are of unknown date.
