Full Description
November 2006. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of a rectangular enclosure and linear ditch are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3164 1832. The enclosure is rectangular in plan with rounded corners and lies on a northwest to southeast axis. It is defined by a narrow ditch and has internal dimensions of 36m by 17m. The ditch on the southeast side of the enclosure is not fully visible as a cropmark. A linear ditch cropmark extends for 59m to the northwest of the enclosure. The date and function of this enclosure is not known, although it is possible that it could be a small Neolithic mortuary enclosure. It is positioned at the head of a small southwest facing valley at 10m OD.
