Map

November 2006. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of incomplete rectilinear enclosure and linear ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3190 1718. The first enclosure, located at TG 3184 1719, has a rectangular plan with a narrow ditch on its southwest, northwest and northeast sides. Its southeast side is not visible as a cropmark and it has internal dimensions of 42m by at least 26m. A 3.5m wide gap in the northwest side of the enclosure may be a deliberate entrance. Located 55m to the northeast is a second rectilinear enclosure cropmark. Its southeast side is also not visible as a cropmark and it has internal measurements of 27m by at least 28m. The ditch forming its northeast side continues for 12m to the southwest of the enclosure suggesting that it formed part of a group. Linear ditch cropmarks are present to the southeast of the enclosures. The date and function of these enclosures is not certain, but is possible that they are of medieval to post medieval origin.
