Map

November 2006. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site of proposed fishing lakes. Contexts 1-30 used.
A late medieval/post-medieval quarry pit, or test pit prior to quarrying, and a post-medieval/modern ditch.
There were no other archaeological remains present in the area of the proposed fishing lakes and it seems likely this low-lying wet area has remained largely unused.
See report (S1) for further details. The results of this work are also summarised in (S2).
