Map

October 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch, potentially the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, may be visible on aerial photographs to the south of High Road, Burgh Castle (S1). The ring ditch is centred on TG 4850 0497 and measures 15m in diameter. There are several breaks in the ditch and the entire ring is not visible. The feature appears to be overlain by a field boundary of unknown, but possibly medieval to post medieval date. There are several other curvilinear cropmarks recorded within this area, some of which are of uncertain archaeological significance and may be natural. This ring ditch may also be of dubious archaeological origin.
S. Massey (NMP), 30 October 2006.
