Map

May 2008. Norfolk NMP.
A group of earthwork mounds and pits that may represent the remains of a post medieval or early twentieth century waterside industrial process or activity are visible on aerial photographs on the western side of Burgh Flats on Breydon Water (S1).

The earthworks consist of relatively irregular mound and sunken areas suggesting that some sort of activity has taken place on the periphery of Breydon Water. However the archaeological significance and date of these features is uncertain and it is possible that it relate to early twentieth century maintenance of drainage ditches, extraction or some similar process.
S. Massey (NMP), 29 May 2008.
