Summary

Fieldwalking in 2006 recovered a number of prehistoric worked flints, including a Palaeolithic scraper and sherds of Iron Age and Roman pottery.

1 Palaeolithic flint scraper. See sketch (S1) and photograph in (S2).
4 undatable prehistoric flint scrapers, 1 notched flake, 2 flakes and 1 shatter fragment (natural, but notable in that the flint and the creamy white cortex are similar to those of the presumed Palaeolithic scraper).
4 Iron Age pottery sherds (flint-gritted).
19 Roman pottery sherds (greyware).
1 ?Roman pottery sherd (?shell-tempered, heavily iron stained).
