Full Description
July 2006. Desk-based Assessment.
Suggests that the proposed development area lies in the historic core of the medieval town on the site of early medieval tenements.
It is likely that the eastern half of the site lies in the southwest corner of land formerly occupied by the Downham Market Bell Foundry (c.1779-1833), once famous for its fine quality Osborn Bells.
See report (S1) for further details.
