May 2006. Field Observation.
NAU Archaeology Holme survey.
Timbers belonging to field maple and hazel/alder trees were spotted on the beach and have been interpreted as hurdle bundles, which were laid out in parallel lines east-west and north-south in a grid pattern 4-6m apart. The purpose of the structure is uncertain but it is hoped that radiocarbon dating of the timber may help with interpretation.
