Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 2006 and 2024 a Neolithic polished flint axehead fragment; Late Prehistoric worked flints; medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; an undatable lump of copper alloy casting waste; a post-medieval coin; a medieval/post-medieval jetton and a number of other, Early Saxon and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an Early Saxon sleeve clasp; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a lead weight and a post-medieval copper alloy unidentified object, lead cloth seal and lead tobacco jar handle.

Full Description

12th November 2006. Metal-detecting rally.
1 Neolithic polished flint axe fragment,
1 Late prehistoric flint end scraper and 3 flakes.
3 medieval pottery sherds.
1 medieval/post-medieval jetton, 3 copper alloy vessel fragments and a lead weight.
1 post-medieval copper alloy unidentified object and lead cloth seal.
Undatable lump of copper alloy casting waste.
Much wartime debris apparent.
