Full Description
March 2007. Norfolk NMP.
A group of linear and curvilinear ditches is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TG 3181 2755. Their date, function and archaeological significance are uncertain. The north-south oriented part of a triple-ditched boundary or trackway at the southern end of the site (between TG 3182 2748 and TG 3182 2751) corresponds with a field boundary depicted on Honing Tithe Map (S2), and the remainder may also be of relatively late date. Some may represent further field boundaries and perhaps trackways; others could mark drains. Further cropmarks visible on the same aerial photographs in the field to the northeast are more likely to be geological than archaeological in nature, and consequently they have not been mapped by the NMP.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 23 March 2007.
